TSS Super Market opened inside “Shripad Hegde Kadave Complex”, a four-floor building inaugurated on 21 December 2016 by Shri Gangadharendra Saraswati Swamiji of Swarnavalli Math, Sonda — witnessed by Shri Mahadeva Prasad, the then Minister for Co-operation, and presided over by Shri Shantaram V. Hegde, honourable President of the institution.

The idea came straight from the founding purpose of the society: to end the exploitation of farmers by private traders. That protection once stopped at the sale of their produce. It now extends to everything they buy back — agri inputs, household goods, and gold.

Probably the highest cheating a customer faces happens at the gold counter. In private jewellery shops ornaments change hands without proper purity being known, wastage is charged, and exorbitant making charges are added on top.

TSS decided to end that for its members. Purity is checked in front of the customer, a certificate is issued for it, and the bill shows every component. The response from members has been overwhelming — the clearest proof that the mechanism works.
